I hate him for trading it cash for gold

My name is Susan and I am forty five. I live together with my husband, Thomas, who is five years older than me. We get on really good with each other. We got married when I was twenty five so it has been quite a nice period of time together by now. Frankly said, two days ago I would say that I know everything about my husband. I know him as good as my own pocket! But today, the situation looks a bit different. I never knew he is such a materialist! All he cares for is money! Cash and cash, he has got cash even in his eyes after opening them in the morning. Yesterday we have found a beautiful golden vase on the beach. It was supposed to be a great souvenir from our vacation. A golden vase that is going to remind us of this beautiful time spend here... Now I can forget about it. Thomas did not pay attention to a single word about memories and stuff. Just minutes after agreeing that we take the finding home, he took it to the jewelry store and got cash for gold. He said that it pays off more to sell gold here than sell gold at home. This is why he decided to convert it cash for gold with no hesitation. I hate him for that! He will have to apologize me for hours for that! Trading memories on cash for gold basis is something I cannot even think of!
